#1 I dance everyday, even if just while brushing my teeth. I’ve discovered that no matter what, you never regret a joyful moment.
#2 I’ve traveled to dozens of countries on six continents (sorry, Antarctica). Travel has been a huge feature of my life, and it’s given me tremendous confidence in myself. Even when I don’t speak the language, I know I can figure it out!
#3 My all-time favorite TV show is The Golden Girls. Seriously — growing up watching women who were dating, empowered about their sexuality and able to be vulnerable with their friends really inspired me.
#4 I was on two seasons of the reality TV show Survivor. (Season 22: Redemption Island and Season 26: Fans vs. Favorites II.) I love travel (see #2 above) and I dreamed of traveling the world on the show The Amazing Race, but the network casting powers that be had other plans!
#5 I’m the only person in 40 seasons of Survivor who was voted out 1st and invited to return for a 2nd season. Which proved to me that even when you fail, your efforts can still be appreciated and valued. (Oh and I was voted out 1st again! C’est la vie.)
#6 I live in Los Angeles with my boyfriend. I am obsessed with the California sunshine — I’m grateful for it constantly.
#7 I was born and raised in NYC. I’ve known every kind of person my entire life – ethnically, racially, religiously, culturally — so to me, diversity is the most natural and beautiful thing in the world.
#8 I met my boyfriend while walking down the street in L.A. After firmly adopting my mantra “Whenever you leave your house you have the opportunity to meet someone special” I made it a reality!
#9 I have zero musical training, but I won a contest for a song I wrote and recorded in my bathroom. Proving that determination and creativity can carry you a long way in life.
#10 I once summited Mt. Kilimanjaro. It was easier than teaching myself (as an adult) how to flirt, but still one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I dug deeper than I knew possible to climb that mountain. I’m a coach, so best believe I love this metaphor! 🙂
